Conventional Alarm Control Panel

A conventional fire control panel alarm system includes one or more circuits connected to initiating devices, including smoke detectors, duct detectors, heat detectors, and manual pull stations, in parallel.
These devices are designed to decrease the circuits’ resistance when subjected to a high
environmental influence.

The Conventional Alarm Control Panel is a graphical representation of the floor, consists of different zones,
with flashing LEDs highlighting which circuit or zone has been activated. One disadvantage;
Conventional panels don’t indicate which room or place is activated within the circuit. It can be
frustrating that a fire can be indicated within a zone using illuminated icons, but the exact
location isn’t determined.

Advantages:

  • Cost-effective especially for small applications
  • Cheaper control panel and devices
  • Easy setup

Disadvantages:

  • Higher costs for large systems
  • No specific fire or smoke detection (detection by zone)
  • Conventional panels can’t detect device locations
